Daliah Husu is a trans woman who discovered her writing career after losing both of her jobs as a nightclub emcee and as a salon manager. Soon after, her car was repossessed and she was forced to move out of her apartment for defaulting on payment. Her crisis opened up a new life path and perspective, and she’s been writing and advocating for the LGBTQ community since.

Daliah is the Author of “I Am Woman: Surviving the Past, the Present, & the Future,” a memoir detailing her experiences with love, drugs, and family pre and post transition. Much of her writing focuses on social and political issues surrounding the LGBTQ community, especially the transgender segment.

Since going public with her story in March 2016, Daliah has been featured in various magazines, newspapers, and online publications, such as Outnews Global, Closer Magazine, The Daily Mirror, Seattle Gay News, Florida Agenda, GAIA Women’s Magazine, Transoutloud.com, and others.
