Dana Lucas from the UK

Dana Lucas Bio

Meet Dana Lucas, trans woman, world traveler, dive master, actor, writer

I’m 48 years old, and grew up in South London and can trace my gender dysphoria back to the age of 5, of course i didn’t understand what was going on. I fell in love with sci-fi and cinema in general from an early age, I just loved to be out on my own as I never felt I fitted in. During my teenage years I became a goth, which meant I could wear nail varnish and makeup and get away with it. In the 90s I finally plucked up the courage to speak to my Dr who surprisingly didn’t laugh and understood. I had my operation in 2001 and have never looked back, it’s not always been easy but I am so much happier now than I ever have been. I have worked in Tv, Radio and theatre, i write, paint and draw and recently had the opportunity to do some acting and stand up. I am a PADI divemaster who can’t wait to return to Mozambique where I have spent a lot of time over the last few years.

Dana Lucas is currently going through a mid-life crisis (actually she’s been going through it for a couple of years). And is still trying to get a grip on what we call life. She would like to say that she is a successfully creative person currently living on the border of London and Essex. But she can’t, thought she does live on the border of London and Essex however art was the only decent qualification that she left school with ( they hated her and she hated them). She writes, paints, draws and loves photography with the hope that oneday someone other than her will see the results. After years of beating herself up about the fact that someone like her couldn’t, Dana is tipping her toe into the world of acting and stand up comedy. She love to be in the water and has spent a lot of time over the last few years Scuba diving in Mozambique and hopes to make enough money to return to paradise beside the Indian Ocean later this year. Dana is a huge Sci-fi fan which is probably the reason why she has been single since before the end of the last century. For once in her life she is trendy as everyone in the UK these days seems to say there Trans.
